NACCA's Events

Please join us at the NACCA meeting at the NACo Annual Conference in Hillsborough County, Florida. We will be meeting from 3-4:30 p.m. on Sunday July 14th in room 307, Third Floor of the Tampa Convention Center.

Jewel White, County Attorney for Pinellas County, Florida, will share with us about a challenging intergovernmental situation over beach renourishment activities with the Army Corps of Engineers.  While not all of us have beaches in our county, the challenge of coordinating among local, state and the federal governments when there is disagreement over the law or a massive change in policy is something we have all faced. You can read more about the situation here - https://www.route-fifty.com/infrastructure/2024/06/homeowner-mutiny-leaving-florida-cities-defenseless-against-hurricanes/397091/

Additionally, Eryn Hurley, NACo's Director of Government Affairs, will provide an update on ARPA. We will also elect a slate of officers. We should also have time for a round table discussion with an opportunity for questions on any legal topics from the group.

You do not have to be a county attorney or member of NACCA to attend, and we strive to make our meetings helpful to anyone working with counties in the legal field.
